Rose District 10th Anniversary
During the October 9, 2012, Downtown Advisory Board Meeting, members voted, 6-1 to recommend the name "Rose District" for the Arts and Entertainment District. On October 16, 2012, City Council approved this recommendation, formally creating the Rose District.
Festival of Festivals
The Rose District is quickly becoming known for not just its beauty, but it's amazing festivals it holds. Our October is already looking booked as far as events happening here on Main Street. These events include the Rose Festival, Chalk It Up, Cool Grilles, Safety Spooktacular, and more.
Celebrating our Merchants
The most vital part of the Rose District is its merchants. Without them, there'd be no reason to visit the Rose District. Check out how our merchants are celebrating with us!
History
The Rose District is a collaborative public/private partnership that has breathed new life into Broken Arrow’s 100-year old historical downtown core. Community leaders sought to create a downtown district that would provide a pedestrian friendly atmosphere, unique dining experiences, and boutique shopping that would draw residents and visitors alike. The resulting vision is now the Rose District, a thriving arts and entertainment district that is home to retail, restaurants, entertainment, and more.
The Rose District came to fruition through a $5MM streetscape renovation that brought wider sidewalks, mid-block crossings, planters adorned with roses, and outdoor dining areas that create a pedestrian and business friendly atmosphere. The Rose District is also home to several museum and art galleries, a 1500-seat modern performing arts center, a pavilion which hosts our summer farmers market, workout classes, movie nights, and much more.
We look forward to sharing with you the beauty and excitement of the Rose District and hope to see you soon!

Future
Over the course of the 10-year Rose District’s existence, our city's downtown area continues to thrive, evolving into a truly unique urban lifestyle while maintaining both beauty and charm. Home to over 80 businesses, the Rose District contains many fine eateries, retail shops, and services. Recent years have seen a tremendous amount of development both commercial and residential on Main Street and the immediate Rose District area. Projects in the immediate future are the installation of new wayfinding signage providing better directions to free public parking and other downtown locations. Main Street will see additional beautiful streetscape installed as the Rose District expands, already containing over 100 different strands of roses. The vision in 2012 when downtown redevelopment began was to create a beautiful Arts and Entertainment District. The opening of Arts @ 302 Creative Arts Center in 2022 further identifies our Award-Winning downtown as such. Happy Birthday Rose District you have come a long way with more to come!
